Dear Christ Community, (March 16)

With this ever-changing and fluid situation that is happening in our country, Christ Community is having to adjust on the fly. After a conference call with our elders (Who are amazing by the way), we have decided to cancel our Sunday morning worship service, on-campus gatherings such as Youth group, bible studies, life groups, etc for this season until told otherwise by state and local officials.

Over the last few weeks, I have been reminded of the book of Acts and how the church began. It started in homes. It started by people opening up their lives to the Gospel and asking others to join in. Fast forward 2000 years and we have church buildings and auditoriums, and concert halls filled with other believers. Why am I bringing this up? Well, its because we are now forced with a choice. Do we push through the mandatory guidelines and do what we want and continue to meet in large gatherings, or go back for a season to the way it started. In Homes. We have decided to be obedient and do ministry in and through homes.

So, this is how we are going to continue to be a church in this next season:

• Pastor PJ and I will be filming sermons on Saturday and posting it online. In both Facebook pages, Instagram, and our church website. We will have full sharing privileges by next Sunday so you can get the word out.
• Each life group that desires and is willing to get together can meet in homes on Sundays or whenever convenient and we will have the video and questions on the message that everyone can journey through together.
• If life groups want to meet but believe it is the best interest not to gather, then there are alternative ways such as conference video calls through ZOOM that at least give a face and voice to the conversation from your own home.
• If you have been attending a life group or weekend service and you have been feeling the call of God to help lead a life group, we would love to hear from you. Please let us know by responding to this post and we will reach out to you.
• We will continue to bring counseling for whoever needs it. Both live and online if needed. Please do not hesitate to contact me personally or at the church office if you need it.
• Loving our Seniors…. If you are over the age of 60 and need food delivered or just someone to come to your door and wave through your peephole :0) we are going to make that happen. Please reach out on this post or call the office and we will do our best to get you what you need.
• Childcare- If you are a parent in need of childcare, please reach out to Helen as she has a team of volunteers standing by that will help when called upon.
• Wednesday night Bible Study (ONLINE) One of us will post a Bible study on Wednesday evening. This can be a family study of questions, that you can do together as a family from home. We would love to hear how it went, please post so we can rejoice with you.
• Prayer requests. Keep them coming. We love praying and will continue to pray for all the needs of our church family.

This is a great reminder that Christianity started from the grassroots of nothing but two pieces of wood, a couple nails, and a willing Christ, and has been turned into something global. We all have a part to play in this thing we call the Church. How can you be the church to your family? Your spouse? Your neighbors? Take some time to ask each other questions that you have never had time to ask, because life has got in the way. In the midst of this tragic state we are in, what are some of the beautiful blessings God is giving us with each other? I know one answer…… TIME. God is giving us TIME that we may have never had before….. Embrace this TIME and make it the best TIME you possibly can.

We love all of you deeply and no matter what, we will stay together as a church. Continue to pray for our first responders, our nurses, our doctors, our pastors, our elders, our elderly, our teachers…… But most of all. Pray for God’s Will to be done.
